Owner's Representative for Large Building Projects

Owner's Representative for Large Building Projects

Large building projects are incredibly expensive, complex, and very
risky. Owners are required to make big decisions for these large
projects related to complex issues, that are beyond their scope of
experience and expertise which are not typically in the project owners
plan for the building.

Typically, they may involve schedule changes, which would require
decisions on financial budgets. They would need to collect in-depth
data that would require interpreting for their construction teams and
designers of the building. This type of scenario would require answers.

This is where the owner's representative would be required. A project
planning and delivery "owner's representative" expert, who knows how to
navigate and negotiate successfully in the complex process of a
building projects. The result would be risk reduction and unnecessary
expenses for the project.

An owner's representative can help prepare and ultimately lead a
collaboration between the owner, builder, and architect for the
project's successful completion. Some companies have been through the
ropes on large projects and don't need an owner's representative, but
in the larger picture, it is good idea to have an owner's
representative on-site.

An owner's representative guides the owner through the decision-making
process of the project. They are on the owners side and would advise
them on information that comes in from the project. A great owner's
representative will work well with all parties involved and deliver the
project on time and under budget!

By not having an owner's representative handle your project and let
the architect and builder do it could be risky. They are professionals
and good at what they do individually (design and construction), but
may not be great at the overall view of the projects direction.

Custom Gift Wrap – Promoting Your Brand

With retail chain stores on every high street, there's never been a
more important time for independent retailers to find ways to promote
their own brand. However, whether you have one store or five hundred
stores your brand is central to everything you do to promote your
business.

A growing trend among retailers is to offer a gift wrapping
service. This is true both in the physical world and also with
retailing on the internet. It is possible to buy a huge range of stock
gift wrap papers. But, this has its disadvantages. Not only is it
almost impossible to match your company's corporate colours, but with
changing trends, a paper chosen today could be out of stock tomorrow.

A better solution for gift wrapping is to have your own gift wrap
paper custom printed. A simple idea would be to have your logo repeated
to make an overall pattern using your corporate colours. This will work
well with a particularly good design. A much better idea would be to
commission some bespoke illustrations that either reflect your store's
product range or possibly a seasonal theme. The company logo can be
included, but with more subtlety. This way you can maintain your
corporate brand whilst offering the recipient of the gift something
much more appealing.

Remember to give some thought to whether you are going to include
ribbons and bows when choosing your design theme and colours. Gift wrap
ribbons and bows will add the finishing touch to any gift. Do think
about how the fully gift wrapped present is to be packaged for posting
if you are planning to gift wrap mail order items. You would most
likely include the gift wrap materials along with the product for
wrapping by the gift giver, unless you are sending the gift directly to
the recipient.

Custom Gift Wrap Design and Print

There are printers who specialise in wrapping paper printing. The
same is true of designers. Initially you will need to talk to someone
who understands the different processes involved and being armed with
sufficient information at the beginning will help.

1. Do you require rolls or sheets?

2. What is your preferred paper weight? eg. 60g., 70g., 80g., 90g.

3. Paper quality? Kraft, Varnished, Metallic.

4. Paper size? Length and width of rolls or sheets.

5. Paper finish? Matt or Varnished.

6. Quantity of sheets or rolls?

7. Colours in design? Standard 1-4 colours, Pantones.

8. Type of printing? Flexo, Gravure, Litho.

9. Any special effects? Metal foil, spot varnish.

The quantity and paper finish required will very quickly dictate
what is possible and what is not for your budget. The budget will be
dependent on the value of the gift, assuming you won't be charging for
a branded gift wrap service. There are three types of printing used to
print wrapping paper. These are Flexography, Gravure and Litho
printing.

Printing wrapping paper rolls using Flexography. For simple designs
in 1 or 2 colours the minimum quantity is approximately 6 to 12 rolls
per design. Roll widths are typically from 30cm to 100cm and have a
roll length of 250m. Rolls can be cut and supplied as gift wrap sheets.

Printing wrapping paper rolls using Gravure printing. Minimum
quantities are often referred to by weights from 100kg for a single
colour and up to 1000kg minimum for 4 colour printing per design. Roll
widths are from 30cm to 100cm and in roll lengths of 250m.

A weight of 100Kg is equivalent to approximately 15 to 25 rolls,
depending on the paper weight and roll width. These 250m counter rolls
can also be cut and supplied as gift wrap sheets or converted into
consumer rolls. Consumer roll lengths are specified by the customer and
typically vary from 1m to 5m in length.

Printing wrapping paper using Litho printing. Gift wrapping paper
is relatively thin, 60-90g, and not many printers like to put such thin
paper through their litho printing presses. Some will print on thicker
paper. This isn't normally recommended as it makes wrapping gifts more
difficult. A 90g matt white paper provides an ideal base for printing
gift wrap designs and is thick enough for litho printing if you can
find a supplier that will do it. The most popular sheet size is 500m x
700mm or very close, depending on the printing press and country of
supply. Typical minimum quantity is 1000 sheets per design.

There are definite advantages to printing litho. With low print
runs possible and high quality multi-colour printing, the starting
price for being able to print multiple designs is kept low. With some
creativity a wonderful selection of designs is possible while including
a central branded look.

5 Ways To Increase Your Affiliate Sales

There are certain ways of doing anything. When it comes to affiliate
marketing in particular, you can choose to do it half-heartedly or you
can go all-out and do it right. Work your affiliate programs by
slamming a ton of banners on a page and waiting for the money to roll
in is both a waste of your time and a disservice to the affiliate
program owner you're working for. You may as well not even do it.

Work your affiliate programs like they actually mean something to
you and your business; with all your knowledge and effort, and you're
going to be on the road to collecting a good deal of commissions. Just
like anything, there are ways of doing things that are going to prove
to your web site or blog visitors that you are an expert at what you're
taking about. Use your expertise about the product you're promoting and
speak to them as a friend. After all, PRE-Selling a product is nothing
more than being able to articulate how wonderful something is to
someone else, as one trusted friend to another. It's not a hard thing
to learn, but is a skill you must master that is not being taught as
widely as it needs to be. People want to be able to trust others.
Cynicism runs rampant in the Internet marketing world. There are far
too many scammers out there making us good guys look bad. You primary
job is to be that one voice crying out in the wilderness that changes
that cynicism to trust. It's about being real and not a salesman.
People can smell a salesman a mile away and they stink.

Here are 5 ways to work your affiliate marketing programs as an expert:

1. PRE-Sell - Find your own voice. Don't write like everyone else.
You do not want to come off as just another carbon-copy salesman. You
need to convey to your visitors that you care about them (it helps if
you do). You need to have a passion to truly help other people. That
can be understood in how you write. Sincerity is a trait sorely lacking
in Internet marketing. You need to learn the mandatory skill of writing
to PRE-Sell. Your job is to PRE-Sell the product and it is the job of
the stores' landing pages to close the sale. Tell your visitors of your
experiences and share stories. People appreciate being spoken to as an
old friend sitting around the dining room table with a cup of coffee.
Which lead to....

2. Have Product Experience - Whenever possible, own the product or
work with the service you're promoting. This allows you to speak as
that expert with first-hand experience. Your passion for that fantastic
product will shine through. You want your readers to get as excited as
your are about the product. You're not going to want to promote
something that isn't any good, no matter how high the commissions,
right? Um....right?? This can only come by owner the product yourself.
Plus, you'll wind up with something really cool! ;)

3. Follow Your Niche - If you're web site or blog that has to do
with cellular phones, don't join and promote an affiliate program for
riding lawnmowers. You are not going to get your most wanted response
that way, which is the click. Keep your subject matter and your
affiliate programs in line with one another.

4. Deep Link - Let's use the cell phone scenario and say that
you've got a page or a blog entry about the Apple iPhone and you have
an affiliate association with a large on-line cell phone store. When
you're figuring out which of their affiliate text links, banners or
other creative to use, make sure you are able to deep link to the page
or pages about Apple iPhones. You want to put your potential customer
where they want to be. Don't just link to the cell phone stores home
page. That is like leading them out into the woods and then dumping
them. Don't make them search for that Apple iPhone information, lead
them directly to it via your deep-linking affiliate link. That way will
convert much better for you.

5. Work with The Affiliate Program Owners - They want to sell their
products as much as you do. Even more. Don't be afraid to contact them
and voice your concerns, opinions and needs. Any affiliate program that
is worth promoting will welcome your input. They will want to work with
you. You'll be able to tell who is worth working with and who is not.
Do they have a large selection of creative to use? Do they offer
attractive commission payouts (I tend not to take anything that pays
out 2% of a sale or less) and long-term cookies? Do they allow deep
linking with a bunch of pages to choose from? Is their affiliate
program control center attractive and easy to use? Do they keep you
informed via email about upcoming promotions and ways to help you make
better conversions? If all that is being done, you should be working
with them as best you can. They are obviously putting their best foot
forward for you and their customers. If not, drop them and move on.
They should always be there to help you in any way they can.

There you have it. Those are a few of the ways to work an affiliate
program for all it's worth. If you want the money (a no-brainer), learn
all you can, work hard, work smart and don't give up. Your failure or
success is entirely dependent on you. Here's to your success!

Three Strong Ways To Skyrocket Your Affiliate Profits Quickly

One of the greatest thing about the world of affiliate marketing, is
that it does not require having your own website. That means no dealing
with customers, refunds, product development and maintenance. In fact,
it's one of the easiest ways of starting an online business and earning
great profits. Let's say you are already into an affiliate program,
what would be the most important thing you would want to do? Make your
commission go through the roof, right? How do you go about doing that?

Below I've summed up some powerful tips on how to boost your affiliate
program commissions over a relatively short period of time..

1. You have to find the best program and products to promote.
Naturally, you're goal is to promote a program that will make it
possible for you to achieve the greatest profits in very little time.

When selecting such a program, there are several factors to consider.
Choose the ones that offer a generous commission . Look for products
that fit in with your target audience. Make sure that they have a solid
track record of paying their affiliates easily and on time. If you
cannot seem to increase your profits, stop promoting that program and
keep looking for better ones.

Because there are thousands of affiliate programs online, it gives you
a reason to take your time and be cautious. You may want to select the
best to avoid losing your advertising dollars.

Create free reports or short ebooks to distribute from your site. There
is a great chance that you are competing with other affiliates that are
promoting the same program. If you start writing a short report related
to the product you are promoting, you will be able to stand out among
the other affiliates.

In the reports, you have to provide some valuable information for free.
If possible, add some recommendations about the products. With ebooks,
you get credibility. Customers will see that in you and they will be
enticed to try out what you are offering.

2. This is very important: collect and save email addresses of those
who download your free ebooks. It is a known fact that people do not
make a purchase on the first solicitation. You may want to send out
your message more than six times to make a sale.

This is the simple reason why you should collect the contact
information of those who downloaded your reports and ebooks. You will
be able to make follow-ups on these contacts to remind them to make a
purchase from you.

Get the contact information of a prospect before sending them to the
vendor's website. Remember, you are providing free advertisement for
the product owners. You get paid only when the prospect makes a
purchase. If you send them directly to the vendors, chances are they
would be lost to you forever.

However, when you get their names, you can always send other marketing
messages to them to be able to earn an ongoing commission instead of a
one-time sale only.

Publish an online newsletter or Ezine. It is always best to recommend a
product to someone you have contact with than to sell to a stranger.
This is the purpose behind publishing your own newsletter. This also
allows you to develop a relationship based on trust with your
subscribers.

This strategy is a delicate balance between providing useful
information with a sales pitch. If you continue to write informative
editorials you will be able to build a sense of reciprocity in your
readers that may lead them to support you by buying your products.

3. Ask for higher than normal commission from merchants. If you are
already successful with a particular promotion, you should try and
approach the merchant and negotiate a percentage commission for your
sales.

If you're dealing with a smart merchant, he or she will likely grant
your request rather than lose a valuable asset in you. Keep in mind
that you are a zero-risk investment to your merchant; so do not be shy
about requesting for addition in your commissions. Just try to be
reasonable about it.

Another thing you can do is write strong pay Per Click ads. PPC search
engine is the most effective means of advertising online. As an
affiliate, you can make a small income just by managing PPC campaigns
such as Google AdWords and Overture. Then you should try and monitor
them to see which ads are more effective and which ones to dispose of.

Give these strategies a try and see the difference it can make to your commission checks in the shortest of time.

Free Classified Ads: Some of the Finer Points!

Free classified ads are very much the same online vs. offline. The
biggest difference is the amount of space you have to place your ad in.
In an offline publication, you are normally using abbreviations and
have room for an ad with 16 to 24 words. In online advertising,
classified directories normally tend to give the advertiser a great
deal more space, often as much as a couple of short paragraphs, and
that is on the free services. In a paid classified service, the space
allocated can be as much as a full page or more.

Years ago, classified advertising online was a very popular means
of driving free website traffic to your website, but it seemed to die
out in the late nineties. Or at least the fad of free classified ads
seemed to fade away. However, if you do a keyword search on Google for
"Free Classified Ads" you will get results of 1,110,000 websites using
the term Free Classified Ads. And if you do a broad search without the
"---" the results are a staggering 14,600,000. I am guessing that the
only thing that faded away in the late ninties was my interest in using
free classified ads.

There are hundreds of free classified ad software programs out
there should you wish to include a free classified ads section on your
website. Should that be your decision, you may check out eclassifieds
dot net, the-classified-connection dot com or theadnet dot com forward
slash webmaster dot htm.

Considering that there are thousands of websites that run free
classified ad sections, it's easy to see how you could spend all of
your spare time just submitting your ads to these sites. There is only
one such site that holds the Alexa ranking and PR rating that I would
encourage you to submit manually to. The most prolific of all
Classified Directories is one most people have familiarity with.
CraigsList.org has weathered the storms over the years and is now one
of the most visited websites in the world. With an Alexa ranking of 46,
it's no wonder that Ebay has purchased a third of Craigslist.com for
big bucks.

And Craigslist.com has a Google page rank of 8 (PR 8): what that
means is that advertising on craigslist.com will give you a back link
to your website from a high PR level website. Google loves this sort of
link from another site. And there are actually ebooks out there that
will instruct you on just the right ways to utilize craigslist.com to
enhance your free website promotion techniques.

Craigslist is certainly not the only classified ad site you cna
submit your ad to. However, unless you have tons of free time on your
hands every week, I would suggest that you consider locating Classified
Ad Submission Software. With this type of software your ad will
iterally be placed into thousands of Free Classified Ad sites. Do a
keyword search for "Classified Ads Submissions Software" and you will
see ads that claim you can send your ad into over 50,000 classified ad
sites with the simple push of a button.

If you select the right software having the proper features, you
will save yourself an immeasureable amount of time in the management,
organization and submissions of your free classified ads. You will be
able to decide exactly where you want you ads to appear. Controling the
ability to manage, organize and control where your free classified ads
are placed opens up many options for you to tailor your ad campaigns.
The good proframs will also automate the submissions to those sites
that require a login and password to access the free classified ads
section.

You will have to make the decision yourself whether or not you will
use Classified ads Submissions as a part of your Internet Marketing
arsenal. I can tell you this; Free Classified ads are considered a
powerful advertising medium on the Internet. Advertise4rs can reach
more potential customers and you can point your ads to virtually
anywhere you want them to go be it a squeeze page, a larger ad, or your
sales page, as it is just not practical to submit your ads to thousands
of Free Classifeid ad sites.

Good luck in you free classified ads submissions. I trust you will
make the right decision as to whcih software to choose. Remember to do
a keyword search on Google for "Classified Ads Submissions Software"
and seriously take a look at the choices you have.

The 3 New Strategies for Marketing Viral Success

In the b.i. days (before the internet), the success of a mom and pop
store depended, among other things, on the big boys of industry. Once
they came to town and set up shop, there was no more mom and pop. They
were driven out of business by the sheer volume of the mega companies'
advertising and capital. Not a pretty site.

The internet has gone a long way to reviving the mom and pop industry.
It affords many small businesses the opportunity to compete by using
simple cost effective techniques repeated on a continuous basis. One of
the techniques is viral marketing commonly referred to as word of
mouth.

In the old days viral marketing for small business owners had limited
appeal. Yes they could be successful in that particular city, town or
even region but it's still nothing compared to the global word of mouth
that business owners can tap into right now thanks to the internet.
Once you launch your viral marketing campaign, it requires very little
follow up on your part and even this has been taken a step further with
the emergence of Web 2.0.

Here are some new ways to get the best out of your viral marketing:

1. The Small Report.

There have been some excellent ebooks on the internet chock full of
good information but let's face it: many people are not going to read
them due to the length. Enter the small report. Putting together a five
to ten page report can be done in no time. The same goes for reading
it. We suffer from information overload in this day and age so giving
people useful information in smaller quantities makes sense.

Find a hot topic and write several articles on it. Place the articles
in a pdf file with your name and contact information branded on the
report. Tell readers they are free to distribute your report as long as
they do not alter it in any way. Then advertise your report in forums
on your website and anywhere else you can think of. People want
information fast and utilizing small reports is a good way to give them
exactly that. It's also a good start to making money from your viral
campaign.

2. Video

In 2005, Kevin McCarthy one of the pioneers of online marketing
predicted that within a year there would be an explosion of online
video. Prediction accomplished. The internet is at the dawning of the
video revolution. It is becoming easier and easier to make a video and
upload it to places like You Tube or Google Video. In fact Google
bought You Tube late last year for 1.65 billion dollars. That's a good
indicator of how things are going.

Like the small report, try to keep your video brief and to the point.
While people would rather watch than read, you still don't want to
overload them. The point of a using a viral video (like reports) for
your business is to give visitors useful information but just enough.
In the end you want them to get more information by going to your
website

3. Folksonomies

Wikipedia defines folksonomy as "a user-generated taxonomy used to
categorize and retrieve web content such as Web pages, photographs and
Web links". In plain english what they are referring to is tagging; a
way to not only retrieve information you want but more importantly to
share that information with others. Tagging is nothing more than
keywords specifically related to bookmarking social sites like Digg,
Technorati or Delicious.

As an example let's say you join Technorati. You then make a video, tag
it with the keyword phrase "funny online video" and upload it to your
account. Now all individuals within the Technorati community will be
able to access your video when they type in that particular keyword.
This is very powerful. Tag viral and bookmarking social can put you in
front of a large audience immediately.

No matter how new the strategies keep in mind if you want your viral
marketing to truly take off then make sure its free. Charging money for
your report or video will guarantee you a limited appeal. Free is a
powerful psychological trigger for many of us so use it. Also make sure
you are providing quality. No one is going to be in a hurry to pass
around below average information.

The internet has in many ways leveled the playing field. Just stay
alert to any new innovations and be ready to incorporate them into your
internet web site marketing strategy. A smart viral marketing campaign
can make any small business successful.

Once upon a time...

We had the likes of Leo Burnett, David Ogilvy et al. And they were the keepers of the flame of advertising.

Nowadays no aspect of advertising is as badly served as advertising
itself. Where to day are the advertising voices that ring out as
intelligent, passionate, current, and, more importantly, critical of
current advertising practices?

Can you, for one moment, even imagine David Ogilvy not giving
sarcastic comment to some of what passes for advertising these days -
especially the use of the new technology?

Once upon a time we had an excellent heritage of critical writing
on advertising. Unfortunately to day no one speaks with any authority
either for or against advertising.

In our current trade press the lexicon of adjectives used by critics of advertising is...zilch...nada...nothing!

Even worse, the banality of what passes for intelligent commentary
on all aspects of marketing/advertising is simply that - banal!

The current crop of writers have forgotten that their first calling
is to write readable, intelligent and amusing articles. Because like
everything else advertising needs strong criticism, it needs that to
keep advertising strong and innovative. Bad advertising, and there
happens to be a lot of it around these days, drives out good
advertising unless there is someone to stop it.

The current crop of writers and what they have to say about
advertising is growing in irrelevance. Sometimes I feel that, when
reading the marketing/advertising/media press that they have no idea
who they are writing for. Sadly, a myopic tunnel vision is bought to
bear on the subject currently in vogue - in this instance, Web 2.0.

However what is really worrying is the fact that, in the instance
of Web 2.0, there is no debate as to the suitability of Web 2.0 as an
advertising medium, there is no debate as to the claims of it being
accountable. Which, by the way, it isn't, it is too susceptible to all
types of fraud and manipulation!

And there is absolutely no discussion on the huge and growing
problem of clutter. Whether it's emerging digital platforms or the
nooks and crannies in an ever increasing buyable physical world - from
dry-cleaning bags, coffee cups, door hangers and even houses. The simple
fact of the matter is that clutter is leading to more clutter.

So if clutter is such a problem, why isn't there a clear, unified
way of thinking out a way to reduce it? And that perhaps a good debate
and discussion within the marketing/Media press could contribute, but
no, no critics within the trade have emerged to courageously tackle
this huge and growing problem!

Added to this is the headlong, unquestioning rush into all forms of
new media. Like, for example, cellphone (mobile) advertising.

A much more critical stance would have questioned the very thought of advertising on mobile 'phones.

Now the obvious has been confirmed, marketers' new-found fondness
for cellphone advertising is not an enthusiam universally shared by
consumers.

When 4,000 adults were asked about different forms of mobile phone
ads the overwhelming majority of respondents found them "not
accepatable at all"!

"My new gizmo has gone up in smoke but I can't face ringing yet
another call centre"...that was the headline in a recent edition of The
Tomes of London, as if in vindication of what I am trying to say here.
"Customer satisfaction plumbs the depths as a survey suggests that we
are fed up with poor servicesstates the Times.

I can guarantee that there will be no discussion/debate/criticism of that little article in the trade press!

Here I will take this opportunity to announce the fact that we are
trying ourselves to (partially)address the problem of reader
satisfaction/ddissatisfaction. On our blogsite (http://effectiveaccountablecommunication.blogsite.com)
we have a short questionaire with a couple of questions and multiple
choice answers. Please take the time to visit and provide us with your
opinions...it will help us all in the future. Thank you so much in
anticipation.

Wealth Management and Financial Advice
